INDEPENDENT REVIEW OF SAFEGUARDING ARRANGEMENTS AND PROCEDURES IN THE BRADFORD DISTRICT
As part of its response to the case of Baby Peter Bradford Safeguarding Children Board commissioned Professor Brid Featherstone of the University of Bradford to undertake an independent review of the inter-agency safeguarding procedures and inter-agency safeguarding arrangements in the Bradford District. Professor Featherstone undertook her study between December 2008 and February 2009, and her final report was accepted by BSCB at its meeting on 18th March 2009.

GROUND BREAKING RESEARCH INTO PARENT'S EXPERIENCES OF CHILD PROTECTION SERVICES
Three Local Safeguarding Children Boards, Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees have joined forces with the NSPCC, the Nationwide Children's Research Centre, and Leeds Metropolitan University to undertake research into parent's experiences of child protection services.

Parents of children who had been subject to child protection plan in each of the three Districts were invited to share their experiences with researchers using semi-structured interviews. Each LSCB has accepted the research and its recommendations, which were formally launched at conference on 3rd March 2010.
