As many organisations will be aware through VYON News and Briefing Bradford, as the Safeguarding Children’s Development worker I have been busy over the past few months raising awareness of the Safeguarding responsibilities that VCS organisations have under legislation and best practice guidelines.

In response to the most requested areas of support I have been asked to provide I am pleased to present a Model Child Protection Policy Template and VCS Self Assessment Tool.

Both of these documents have been designed to present base-line information and should be used as an aid to the development of your organisations safeguarding policies and procedures. I am pleased to announce that both of these tools have now been endorsed by the Bradford Safeguarding Children’s Board and comply with the standards set locally for VCS organisations that work with children and young people.
